Talented young people from across Rhondda Cynon Taf are preparing to tread the boards with Owen Money in the panto Aladdin . Youngsters aged 10-18 yrs were successful in auditioning for the show and will be singing and dancing alongside Owen and a full professional cast at the Muni Arts Centre, Pontypridd, until December 27, 2009. Auditions were staged through Rhondda Cynon Taf Cultural Services' Take pART programme supported by the Arts Council of Wales Three ‘panto crews' are now working hard under the direction of Performance Crew choreographer Bridie Smith From Pontypridd.

Owen and his wife are delighted to announce that their daughter Katie has given birth to a son Gabriel James (8lb 9ozs) on Sunday 2nd August. They are already proud grandparents to Alex (age 15) and are now looking forward to babysitting duties for a second time.

Pictured is a delighted Mike Doyle, who starred as 'Muddles' in Snow White & the Seven Dwarfs with Lloyd Davies, Amy Coombes, Lewis Cook and Deiniol Wyn Rees. The cast were thrilled with the audience response to the production which finished on 22 February 2009.
Pantomimes will be back in November 2009 starring Mike Doyle in Jack & the Beanstalk on tour, and Owen Money in Aladdin. Check them out here.

Owen Money & Rob Brydon Charity Evening
Owen Money presented a Charity Evening with Rob Brydon in support of
Merthyr Tydfil AFC Supporters Club on 14 January 2009 at the New Merthyr
Leisure Centre. The capacity audience saw live on stage two of the UK 's
top entertainers. A substantial amount of money was raised for the club.

Buttons.. Undone! - A Pantomime for Adults with
a difference
Buttons.. Undone finished on Saturday 26th April after playing to appreciative and
enthusiastic audiences at the Miners Institute, Blackwood; the Parc and Dare,
Treorchy and the Grand Theatre, Swansea and the Congress Theatre Cwmbran.
Owen hopes to produce another adult farce for spring 2009.

This production was an hilarious night of fun that had audiences rocking
with laughter!

Owen Money received his MBE at Buckingham Palace in
June 2007
A very proud Owen travelled to London with his wife and family for this
very
special
occasion last June. He was awarded his MBE for services
to
entertainment and
was quite overwhelmed and moved by the
experience.
As he said "it was quite an
unusual day in the life of Merthyr's
Best Entertainer!" |
